Jordan
Our Ongoing Work in Jordan
Jordan is widely recognized for its well-established healthcare system and the provision of high-quality medical services in the Middle East. However, the system faces significant vulnerabilities due to a growing population, the lasting impact of COVID-19, the resurgence of certain infectious diseases, and a deteriorating economic climate in recent years. Non-communicable diseases (NCDs), pregnancy-related complications, and chronic conditions like asthma, cancer, diabetes, and heart disease remain persistent challenges. The influx of refugees has led to increased demand for healthcare services and facilities, straining existing resources and creating tensions with host communities. Moreover, the data on health remains underdeveloped, lacking the comprehensiveness and effectiveness needed to address these challenges fully.
Jordan also holds significant geopolitical importance as a relief hub for dispatching humanitarian aid convoys to the Gaza Strip. There is a pressing need for reliable systems that can track and manage critical operations, ensuring that resources reach those in need while minimizing logistical challenges and maximizing accountability. This would also mean unhindered access to basic necessities and contributing to the broader objectives of regional stability and resilience.
Two times In 2024, in May and July, Commit Global’s team of researchers and UX designers, led once by our founder, Bogdan Ivanel, and once by our co-founder and Director of Product, Olivia Vereha, conducted an extensive field research mission in Lebanon and Jordan, engaging directly with a total of 11 different CSOs and 9 international non-governmental organizations (INGOs). The research included qualitative interviews, over 40 meetings consisting of semi-structured interviews, discovery sessions and presentations (demos), and on-site assessments to gather a nuanced understanding of the current political, economic, and social environments. This approach allowed us to identify the specific challenges and needs faced by CSOs in both countries, giving us a possibility to produce internal research reports that are grounded in local realities.

Civic Tech 911 is an on-demand tech support service for NGOs. It helps organizations solve tech problems, streamline processes, and improve efficiency—just like having an in-house IT department. Support is available in English, Ukrainian, Romanian, Georgian, Turkish and Italian through 1-hour consultation sessions. In order to book a consultation session, an NGO needs to provide details about the issue they are facing, including the context, how it affects the organization, and any relevant information (such as legal context or similar examples). Once the details are submitted, NGO’s choose a time slot that works for them. Civic Tech 911 is available to any NGO, in any country, Monday to Friday.
