SAFE Youth Dialogues

SAFE Youth Dialogues is a European initiative dedicated to supporting young people affected by war, migration, and profound social change. The project is developing a practical toolkit for youth workers, teachers, and facilitators, offering safe and responsible methods for addressing sensitive topics such as war, peace, identity, and experiences of displacement.

Through its “storytelling rooms” component, SAFE creates spaces where young people—both those from host communities and those who have arrived from Ukraine—can share their experiences, needs, and recommendations. These real-life perspectives form the basis of a European toolkit that will help youth workers facilitate inclusive dialogues, reduce intercultural barriers, and build more empathetic and resilient communities.

SAFE Youth Dialogues is implemented by an international consortium from Germany, Romania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Ukraine, with the support of the Erasmus+ Programme.

“Digital Tools for Safe Dialogue” – Dissemination of the project to the general public

The project dissemination workshop was part of the “Together in the Park” event organized by UNHCR in Bucharest, Romania. Its aim was to inform the public about the launch of the platform developed within the project, featuring a set of online tools that can be used by youth workers, educators, facilitators, and volunteers.

During the workshop, we used an exercise adapted from one of the methodologies developed together with our project partners: Circle of Support. The exercise demonstrated the remarkable ability of young people to create a safe space together, where their messages reflected empathy, genuine support, and a deep understanding of the importance of being there for those going through difficult times, as also illustrated in the photos.
