Marius Stan is a political scientist specializing in the history of communist regimes. He holds a PhD from the University of Bucharest (2011) and is the author of volumes published in several languages and numerous articles in international academic journals.
His career spans various roles in academia and media. He served as the editor of the international journal History of Communism in Europe. From 2018 to 2021, as research director, Marius led the Hannah Arendt Center of the University of Bucharest. During that time, he also signed the Distinguo blog at Radio Free Europe Moldovan Service in Prague.
Marius joined Commit Global at the beginning of 2024, bringing into the Infrastructure for Good his experience in NGO projects focused on different topics, from contemporary art to civic participation and empowerment.
