Commit Global's secret sauce is not their software expertise or their portfolio (despite both being excellent). Instead, it is the ability of the leadership team -- Bogdan, Dana and Olivia -- to focus their formidable volunteer capacity on a particular problem area, guide it through successful execution, and deliver impactful results. They have repeatedly demonstrated an ability to rapidly deliver simple technology solutions that solve real-world problems, most recently in the high-stress, high-stakes challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and the invasion of Ukraine. Of the many civic technology groups worldwide, I believe Code for Romania is one of the best-placed to explore the Commit Global concept and determine if impactful, sustainable re-use of civic technology projects worldwide is possible.
